Clearfield-Jefferson Chapter
Volunteers are needed for local, national, and international disaster services.  You
can choose when and where you are willing to volunteer and we will provide the
training.

There is a great need for volunteers to assist in the local area with everyday
disasters.  Volunteers can choose to take phone calls at home and relay
messages, deliver refreshments to firefighters in your own home town, assist with
shelters in local disasters, or deploy nationally or internationally on disaster relief
operations. The level of commitment is up to you but volunteers are needed in all
areas. Office volunteers are always needed for answering phones and assisting
with administrative duties.
Getting started is easy!  In fact, you can start your training right now by taking the
Introduction to Disaster Services course online. When you have completed the
course, simply call the chapter at 765-5516 or contact the Red Cross office nearest
you and set up an appointment to fill out a volunteer application.  Even if you think
you have no special skills, chances are very good that you do have skills and
talents that are very valuable.

When you complete the
Introduction to Disaster Services course, you will be given
the opportunity to select your interests and talents. Based on the selections you
make, a variety of jobs will be listed that match your interests.
All Red Cross volunteers must complete a criminal background check.
There is no cost for this check, and more information on this can be obtained at
the chapter or by calling 814-765-5516 or 814-849-2712.

Some Red Cross disaster volunteer positions require CPR and/or First Aid training.
We provide this training at no charge for disaster volunteers.
