Clearfield-Jefferson Chapter
HOUSE #1 - Bob & Sue Ryan
The home of Bob and Sue Ryan is just one of several homes being shown on the American Red
Cross House Tour Saturday, June 27.  A limited number of tickets are now on sale at the
Clearfield-Jefferson Chapter American Red Cross office, 1100 S. Second Street or Sandee’s
Gifts on Third Street. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used for the chapter’s local disaster
relief fund.

The Bob and Sue Ryan home, built in the French Country style, features expansive steep hip
roof, quoins built into the brickwork, and arches accenting the entryways.  There are five
multi-sided bays built into the plan. Multiple windows add to the open feel of the home, which
accommodates many family gatherings. The great room, which is the hub of the home,
features a soaring vaulted ceiling, marble and woodwork fireplace, hardwood flooring and a
wall of tall windows looking out through the veranda into the back yard.

The south wing of the house is the master bedroom suite with bedroom/sitting area, walk-in
closets, two baths and a hot tub room. Off the open foyer is a more formal sitting area
located in the front bay of the house.  The north wing consists of the large kitchen with a
breakfast area in another bay. The formal dining room has a bay window and an open oak
staircase which leads to a guest bedroom suite.  In a hallway leading to another guest
bedroom is a computer station, closet, coat nook and laundry room. The three car garage
and an unfinished basement provide plenty of storage space and room for expansion.  The
Ryan residence has proven to be a comfortable home for day-to-day living as well as a great
gathering space for family and friends.
